New Legislation Proposes National Expansion Of Integrated Care Models

On March 14, a bipartisan group of senators—members of the Senate Duals Working Group—released legislation (The DUALS Act: Delivering Unified Access to Lifesaving Services Act of 2024) that commits to ambitious goals for aligning Medicare and Medicaid coverage: requiring every state to provide an integrated care option within five years, establishing a shared savings mechanism for states to benefit from reduced Medicare expenditures, and significant (but still insufficient) funding to support integration efforts.
